New Motorcycle First Aid Course

06.05.2017

With the report of the National Statistics Office stating that there was an 18% increase of motorcycle incidents between 2015 and 2016, including 9 fatalitites(1), Malta Red Cross felt the need to introduce a Motorcycle First Aid Course.

The Society strongly believes in having people trained in Basic First Aid to respond to any incident in which every second counts.  Using proper First Aid techniques can make a difference between life and death.

This course is currently being delivered in conjunction with Gordon’s Moto Centre and, amongst others, focuses on:

  •  What to do if you are the first person on scene
  •  How to safely and effectively manage the site of an incident
  •  Basic life support including CPR, the Recovery Position and Choking
  •  Dealing with different types of wounds
  •  Handling and aiding someone with injuries to the bones or muscles
  •  Safe removal of a helmet
